The principle purpose of the Food Not Bombs Free Skool is to strengthen the organizing skills of people volunteering in the peace, social justice and environmental movements. We invite you to share and seek knowledge in the areas of social change, economic justice, peace, generosity, diversity, responsibility and a sustainable future. All our workshops and classes feature legal First Amendment protected activities or skills.

The Food Not Bombs Free Skool welcomes anyone interested in helping change the world. We provide two week blocks of time for your participation. If you wish to camp at the Food Not Bombs Free Skool we request $25 a week for utilities. You may include your payment with the application or provide it the day you arrive. If you want to participate but can not afford $25 we can direct you to some wonderful local free camping areas or talk with you about a scholarship.

In respect of our community and everyone's own well-being the Food Not Bombs Free Skool provides an environment free of weapons, alcohol, pets, and smoking. If you need to smoke we request that you do so on the road away from the school to honor the fresh, clean environment and the health of all participants. We are cultivating, harvesting, cooking and preserving some of the cleanest organic food available and working to create a safe environment so it is not appropriate to smoke at the school. The Pueblo does offer less expensive tobacco products and you can smoke away from the Food Not Bombs Free Skool as long as there are no fire restrictions. Thanks for understanding. We also invite to to enjoy the beer and wine at the many wonderful venues in the area but ask that you not drink at our land. We love animals but have learned that pets can have a difficult time interacting with the livestock and wildlife. Since we are seeking to build a world free of violence weapons have no place at the Food Not Bombs Free Skool.

Please be prepared for cold evenings and bright sunny days. The Food Not Bombs Free Skool is located in a pasture at 7,000 feet or 2,400 meters above sea level. It can be cold at night even in the summer so please bring a coat and wide brimmed hat. The sun is very bright in the days and being so high people can get a sun burn before they realize it. Please view the local weather report here. www.taosnews.com/ weather

The Food Not Bombs Free Skool is not a place to crash so if this is your only desire we can direct you to some wonderful free campsites in the area. Call us at 1-800-884-1136 or visit these sites for details on rent free camping details in Taos County. Please stop by to visit anyway.
